Las Hormigas Negras produces the #RetoGCsostenible television adverts

In 2018 and part of 2019, audio-visual production company Las Hormigas Negras was responsible for producing videos for the #RetoGCsostenible campaign used by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria to get the people of the island to suggest small gestures to care for the Gran Canaria environment.

They used the #RetoGCsostenible web site and their social media accounts to encourage the people of Gran Canaria to care for the environment. They started out by producing adverts for the television, with well-known faces from the islands giving advice on caring for the environment.

The “Efecto Pasillo” group advised us to turn off the stand-by red pilot lights on our electronic devices to save energy and influencer Priscila Betancort encouraged us to plant a tree to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Swimmer Enhamed Enhamed advised us to turn off the tap in the shower to save water and Davinia Rodríguez called on us to reduce our use of plastic bags and promote the circular economy. These simple gestures enable each and every one of us to look after our island and make it a better place.

The Las Hormigas Negras team of director, assistant directors, sound technicians, electricians, production assistants, editors, camera operators, hair dressers and make-up artists managed to achieve an excellent result with these T.V. adds, which also form part of the #RetoGCsostenible web site and social media.

Furthermore, that was not the end of the #RetoGCsostenible adventure, we, as the audio-visual producers also made seven videos, in which a range of secondary schools of the island explained the environmental initiatives that they were rolling out in their schools and they got the message across about how important it is to look after our surroundings, both for us and for future generations.
