Las Hormigas Negras produces the video about the I Gran Canaria Integral Housing Plan.

At the beginning of 2019, audio-visual production company Las Hormigas Negras was given the mission to produce the video about the I Gran Canaria Integral Housing Plan for the Gran Canaria Housing Consortium and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria (Island Government.

This is an initiative that works on improving living conditions for the men and women of the island so that we can all have an adequate, decent home. The plan consists of several actions, including refurbishing houses, accessibility grants, improving habitability and creating the eviction prevention service.

In 2018, The Cabildo de Gran Canaria in co-ordination with different municipal councils, commissioned the refurbishment of 3,882 houses in the neighbourhoods of Cruce de Sardina, in Santa Lucía de Tirajana; El Barrial, in Gáldar, Barrio de Quevedo in Teror, El Lasso in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the houses of the Grupo San Miguel in Valsequillo and Tres Palmas, in the capital of Gran Canaria. Extensive work was done on these houses on the plumbing, repairs to the facades and painting them.

Houses were also refurbished in the neighbourhoods of Jinámar, La Montaña in Gáldar, El Roque in Moya, La Atalaya de Guía, Santa Brígida and Agaete. Furthermore, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria provided aid for 520 socially-vulnerable families or in housing accessibility grants.

We are all entitled to have a home to take refuge in, to grow as people and to project our lives. Our intention with this video was to reflect how the residents of these neighbourhoods and several families have been able to enhance their quality of life, thanks to the repairs that have been done to their homes.

We in the audio-visual production company did a careful job in scripting, producing, managing and filming this piece with our camera operators, script-writers and editors, and using the very best technical equipment and our drone to create a video that really transmits the improvements in the living conditions of these people. Videos of this kind make Las Hormigas Negras one of the main corporate video producers in the Canary Islands.
