Our animations explained the new cycle lane routes in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The team from Las Hormigas Negras audio-visual production company was responsible for designing the motion graphics animation for the video explaining the cycle lane routes for the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council in 2018.
This is a video that briefly explains how the network of cycle lanes under construction at that time, is laid out. The aim is to connect the busiest areas of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. These areas account for 70% of the journeys made in the city each day.
This action was implemented in 2018 and 2019, to double the length of cycle lanes in the capital city and five possible routes have been created. The first one goes from Hoya de La Plata to Plaza de España, the second from Tomás Morales to Mas de Gaminde, the third one, from Guiniguada to Plaza Manuel Becerra, the fourth goes from Guanarteme to Mesa y López and the last route connects all these different routes. The aim of the cycle lanes is to create a practical city that is easy and safe to get around.
Motion graphics animations have become the best ally of the marketing and communications departments of many entities. 2D animation is a really useful tool when the concepts you are trying to get across are highly complex, or when you cannot use real filming technique. Las Hormigas Negras is on the cutting edge of this technique and produces the animation that best adapts to the needs of our clients, for a range of processes like the screenplay, the story-telling and the illustration, in order to get the message across to the target group.
